2/5 - 10/1 Harp & Thistle Pipe Band - WEDNESDAYS

Grade One Player, Pipe Major Don Goller, leads the Harp & Thistle Pipe Band. The Drum Major is Alex Daniels and Greg Sheridan is the Pipe Sgt. At present the band boasts 24 bagpipers, 10 snare drummers, six tenor and three bass drummers. The band also has it’s own three-man color guard and banner carriers. The student ranks are swelling, with 28 student pipers all keeping the tradition alive. The future holds much promise. The band rehearses every Wednesday night at the Riverside Community Center starting at 6:30 pm. Come listen to the “pipes on the river” or even learn to play them yourself.

2/7 - 12/26 Club Country Line Dance - FRIDAYS

Club Country meets every Friday at the Riverside Community Center on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River at 7:00P.M. there is a line and partner dance teach, followed by "open dancing" until 10pm This club is a volunteer organization. Our dance lessons are usually given by club members or a visiting guest instructor. Music is provided by a DJ.

Club Country's annual membership dues are $10 per person. Our membership begins April 1st and ends March 31st. All our weekly dances are open to the general public. Admission cost, $2 members and $4 non-members.

Please Note: Bottled water and soda are available for sale. You may bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages if you wish. (No alcohol is allowed in the Community Center.)

Join us every Thursday year-round under the Caloosahatchee Bridge for the River District Farmers' Market! This lively green market offers a variety of local produce, seafood, baked goods, honey, nuts, cheese, flowers, plants & more for the discerning shopper.

7/4 - 9/4 Art Walk

The monthly Art Walk runs from 6 to 10 p.m. on the first Fridays. Art Walk includes more than a dozen art galleries and art stops and features new art shows, live music, and a traditional after party.

7/14 - 11/24 Ballroom Dance Lessons - MONDAYS

Every Monday evening. Lessons are from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm and the Social Dance begins at 7:30 pm cost is $5 per person for one or both sessions.

8/4 City of Naples Life Jacket Loaner Program Launch

The Life Jacket Loaner Program is designed to save lives by preventing drowning. Available at popular beach and lake sites, the life jacket is available to borrow and return at no charge for adults and children. Special thanks to the Naples Community Hospital Safe and Healthy Children's Coalition of Collier County and its partners for initiating this important program.

8/15 Music Walk

The River District comes alive every month with live music on 3rd Friday in the downtown Fort Myers River District. Over a dozen participating venues feature music by local and regional talent. Restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shops  showcase a wide range of music during Music Walk. From jazz and blues to rock, drums and much more.  Each month brings great music and new energy to the historic streets of downtown Fort Myers.

If you plan on spending the night we recommend booking your hotel room in advance. The event brings out thousands of music and art lovers to the River District. Organized by the River District Alliance who also manage Fort Myers Art Walk and many other downtown events. Music Walk was conceived as a sister event to the extremely popular first Friday Art Walk which brings out over 2,000 people during off-peak months!

Music walk was created by Art Walk co-founder and tattoo artist and gallery owner Andy Howl of HOWL Gallery/Tattoo.
